Speaker Spotlight- Janelle Capra: Alzheimer’s Disease Association of Kern County
Janelle Capra has spent more than 20 years working with local media, non-profit and community-minded organizations. Winner of the Beautiful Bakersfield Award for Humanitarian of the Year, Janelle believes in giving back to causes that are doing great work in Bakersfield and beyond.
Janelle currently serves on RAMP (Runner Alumni Mentor Program) at CSUB, Governing Board for Mendiburu Magic Foundation, Leadership Council for Bakersfield Ronald McDonald House and served as Board President for Alzheimer’s Disease Association of Kern County, ADAKC in 2018-2019. Janelle accepted the role of Executive Director for ADAKC in April 2019. She is also an Alzheimer’s advocate on a state and national level working with Alzheimer’s Association, Alzheimer’s Impact Movement, Youth Movement Against Alzheimer’s and Maria Shriver’s Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement.
Janelle enjoys writing for Huff Post, TODAY Parents, Kern County Family Magazine and guest contributor for other local publications. She believes in the pure power of PR to connect, collaborate and create a culture of “positive impressions.”
